Moving the map and zooming in and out in the onX Offroad App
You can navigate the map using your fingertips. To pan around, touch the tip of your finger to the screen and move it in any direction. The map will move with your fingertip.
To zoom in, touch your finger and thumb to the screen and spread them apart.
To zoom out, touch your finger and thumb to the screen and pinch them together.
Main map screen features of the onX Offroad App
The icons and buttons near the edges of your screen let you use all of the features of the onX Offroad App. Most of the main features of the onX Offroad App are accessed from the Main Toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
Activity Filter: filter trails by type (dirt bike, ATV, overland, and full-width roads), and switch between Dirt Mode and Snow Mode. Click here to learn how to use the Activity Filter menu.

Right Side Controls

Your location, elevation, and the scalebar in the onX Offroad App
The scalebar is visible in the upper left corner whenever you pan the map or zoom in and out. The distance above the line is the length of the line on your map, which you can use to determine your map's current zoom level.
The elevation reading below the map scalebar is your current physical elevation.
The blue dot on your map is your current physical location, as determined by your mobile device. Cloud cover, tree cover, high cliffs, and anything else that blocks your line of sight to the sky can affect the accuracy of your device's location, but most of the time it should be accurate to within about 20 feet.
Moving the map and zooming in and out in the onX Offroad Web Map
You can navigate the map using your computer's mouse. To pan around, click the map and move it in any direction. The map will move with your mouse.
To zoom in, click the "+" button in the bottom right corner above the Basemaps button. To zoom out, click the "-" button. You can also use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom in and out.

Map scalebar, coordinates, and your location in the onX Offroad Web Map
The map scalebar is in the lower right corner. The distance above the line is the length of the line on your map, which you can use to determine your map's current zoom level. The coordinates next to the map scalebar are the GPS location of the center of the map.
The blue dot on your map is your current physical location, as determined by your computer.
The location displayed in onX Offroad Web Map is based on internet traffic, which is routed through hubs scattered around your area. Most of the time, the closest location your computer will be able to find is the location of one of these hubs.
