If you need to import or export Waypoints, Routes, Lines, Shapes, or Tracks in onX Offroad, you can do so from the onX Offroad App on your mobile device or from the onX Offroad Web Map on your computer. This article explains how to import and export Markups with a GPX or KML file on both platforms.
You can import up to 3,000 individual Markups, and files must be under 4MB.
Tip: Markups don't sync automatically between onX Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, or Fish. To move them, log in to the onX product App or Web Map you want to transfer Markups from, export them as a GPX or KML file, then log in to your desired onX product App or Web Map and import the file.
Format guide
Before importing or exporting, it's worth knowing how file formats affect your Markups:
- Tracks exported as KML files will be converted into Lines on import. Export Tracks as GPX to preserve them.
- Lines and Areas exported as GPX files will be converted into Tracks on import. Export Lines and Areas as KML to preserve them.
- When exporting from the Web Map, only the location and name of each Markup are saved. onX customizations like icons and colors aren't included in the exported file.
Note: The onX Offroad App can only import and export GPX files. To import or export KML files, use the Web Map on your computer.
