If you want to change your displayed Basemap to study terrain in more detail and orient yourself to where you're at in the field, you can do so from the Layers menu. onX Offroad offers Satellite, Hybrid, HD Topo (LiDAR), standard Topo, and Recent Imagery Basemaps.
Basemap options
- Satellite: Aerial imagery of the land taken from above. Satellite imagery is one to four years old on average and is intended to give you a general sense of the terrain, not to reflect current conditions.
- Hybrid: Aerial imagery with topography contour lines overlaid.
- HD Topo: A high-definition topographic map complete with LiDAR and contour intervals.
- Topo: A standard 1:24k scale topographic map with contour lines to show changes in elevation.
- Recent: Imagery captured approximately two weeks prior. Available to Elite Members only.
