The Discover feature in the onX Offroad app shows a list of trails within 100 miles of your map's current center point. Use it to browse trail details, ratings, and vehicle requirements before you ride.
How to open the Discover menu
To browse nearby trails, tap the Discover button in the lower-left corner of the map screen.
Featured trails are listed first and include photos, detailed descriptions, technical ratings, suggested ride times, trail length, estimated travel time, and vehicle types allowed.
Tap any trail in the Discover menu to move the map to that location and view its info card.
How to filter trail types
By default, all trail types are turned on: dirt bike, 50" trail, high clearance 4x4, and full-width roads. To filter trails by type, tap the Map Modes button at the top of the Discover menu.
Tap a trail type to show or hide it on the map. A filled checkbox means that trail type is currently shown on your map.
Trail access
onX Offroad provides trail and land information to help you plan your ride. Keep the following in mind before heading out:
- Government-owned properties shown in onX Offroad are not always open to the public and may be subject to special restrictions.
- Paved roads displayed on the map may include state, county, and private roads. Their appearance on the map does not indicate public access.
- Always check with the managing agency — such as the Bureau of Land Management or a National Forest — before riding in an unfamiliar area.
- Obey any signs you encounter in the field.
- Tap a property or trail on the map to find the managing agency responsible for that area.
