Basemaps include geographic information like state and county borders, roads, waterways, lakes, mountains, and more. You can choose between three different Basemaps: Satellite, Topo, and Hybrid.
Use 3D mode to study terrain in more detail.
- Satellite Basemap: actual images of the land taken from above. Satellite imagery is 4 years old on average and is included to give you a general idea of the terrain, not to reflect current conditions on the ground.
- Topo Basemap: topography lines showing elevation and land contours (1:24k scale in most areas). Click here for tips on reading topography maps.
- Hybrid Basemap: images of the land taken from above with topography lines overlaid on top.
