You can transfer Waypoints, Tracks, and other content from other mapping programs into your onX Offroad account by exporting a GPX or KML file from your current app and uploading it to onX Offroad. This article covers how to export that file from BaseMap, Gaia GPS, Garmin BaseCamp, and Google Earth Pro.

Transferring content from BaseMap
- Log in to your BaseMap account: https://app.basemap.com/
- Click the "Import/Export" button on the left side of the page:
- Click the "Export" tab at the top of the menu:
- Check the boxes next to the content you want to transfer, then click the "Export" button:
- A file named "BaseMap.kml" will download to your computer. Click here for instructions on how to upload this file into your onX Offroad account.
Transferring from Gaia GPS
- Open the Gaia GPS app.
- Tap "Saved" at the bottom of the screen:
- Select the Waypoint or Track you want to transfer, or add them all to a single folder to transfer them at once.
- Tap the three dots at the top right of the menu:
NOTE: On Android devices, the "Export" option will be in the Waypoint or Track's menu with no need to tap the three dots.
- Tap "Export."
- Choose either GPX or KML format (onX recommends GPX format).
- A menu of other apps will appear on your screen. Save your content to your computer by selecting your email application, and email the file to yourself.
- On your computer, access your email and download the file to your computer. Click here for instructions on how to upload this file into your onX Offroad account.
Transferring Content From a Garmin GPS Unit or Garmin's BaseCamp Program

Transferring From a GPS Unit
- Plug your GPS unit into your computer with a USB cable:
- Launch Garmin BaseCamp.
- The GPS unit is listed in the top left-hand window.
- Click the "Internal Storage" folder listed underneath the GPS unit.
- Click File > Export > Export 'Internal Storage'
- A file explorer window will appear. All the markups are saved in a single GPX file. Save the file someplace you'll be able to find it later. Click here for instructions on how to upload this file into your onX Offroad account.
Transferring From BaseCamp
- Launch Garmin BaseCamp.
- Click "My Collection" in the top left-hand window:
- Click File > Export > Export My Collection
- A file explorer window will appear. All the markups are saved in a single GPX file. Save the file someplace you'll be able to find it later. Click here for instructions on how to upload this file into your onX Offroad account.
Transferring Content from Google Earth
- Launch Google Earth Pro.
- Click "My Places" in the top left-hand window:
- Click File > Save> Save Place As...
